News of Pak Lah's ill health is fake - office

Former prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, better known as Pak Lah, is still alive and healthy, said the management of his gallery.

They were responding to a message reportedly being spread on WhatsApp that the 80-year-old's health was deteriorating.

"He is still in good health besides his beloved family. The gallery management denies the spread of this fake news (about his health)," they said in a statement tonight.

Abdullah has kept a relatively low profile since he resigned as prime minister in 2009.

The last notable public remark he made was back in May, 2018 when he urged voters to exercise wisdom and rationality at the ballot box. 

In June last year, Bernama reported that the 5th prime minister was in good health and was still attending events. - Mkini
