Sleep-deprived Hadi advised to get warded twice during Sheraton Move

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang revealed that he had been advised to get hospitalised twice during the Sheraton Move in late February.

He said he and others had been working hard to ensure a "change" then, to the point of sleep deprivation.

"Myself and allied political leaders worked really hard on this issue until I did not get enough sleep, to the point I was advised to get warded twice.

"But we continued working in full spirits until a very interesting 'change' occurred (in the country), peacefully, and without bloodshed," Hadi said in an interview with Malaysia Gazette.

Hadi was one of the key players in the Sheraton Move, which saw Bersatu defecting from Pakatan Harapan on Feb 23 to form a new government with Umno-BN, PAS, and GPS.

This set off a week-long political crisis, which ended on March 1 with Muhyiddin Yassin being sworn in as prime minister.

Hadi was later appointed as a special envoy to the Middle East under the Perikatan Nasional administration.

The PAS president said the change in government was the most impactful event in his 51 years in politics. - Mkini
