RM11.67m village road project for Orang Asli community in Pahang

Village roads, worth RM11.67 million, will be built to replace logging trails and provide better road access for the Orang Asli community in 14 villages in Pos Betau and Pos Lenjang in Lipis, said Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

He said work on the road project, stretching 15.4 kilometres, had started with site acquisition last Oct 16. The project is expected to be ready in April 2022.

Persada Jitu Sdn Bhd has been appointed as the contractor of the project, which would also involve the construction of a new bridge and upgrading of two existing bridges, he said when officiating construction of Jalan Pos Betau to Kampung Semoi Lama, Pos Lenjang, at Pos Betau today.

He said the project, when completed, would facilitate the Orang Asli community to go to the health clinic and for students to go to school.
