Water supply back to normal in Petaling after scheduled disruption

Taps are still dry in Shah Alam with water supply set to return to normal by 9am tomorrow.

PETALING JAYA: Water supply has been fully restored in Petaling following scheduled water disruptions in certain districts in Selangor.

In a statement today, Air Selangor said all consumers in Petaling have seen their water supply restored following yesterday’s new pipe diversion and connection work near the Carlsberg brewery at Persiaran Selangor Seksyen 15, Shah Alam.

Meanwhile, only 21% of the affected consumers in Klang have had their water supply restored.

However, according to Air Selangor, water supply has yet to be restored in Shah Alam.

Air Selangor last week said that the maintenance work would cause a 48-hour water supply disruption in 31 areas – five in Petaling, 14 in Klang and 12 in Shah Alam. Water supply is expected to be fully restored by 9am tomorrow.

“The duration of the disruption and the restoration of water supply to the affected areas may differ according to the distance to consumers’ premises and the water pressure at the distribution system,” the utility company said today.

“Air Selangor hopes that consumers who have received their water supply will use water prudently to allow the recovery process in the other affected areas to run smoothly as scheduled.”

Air Selangor said it will continue to update the status of the water supply recovery process through its website at www.airselangor.com, the Air Selangor app and its social media accounts. Consumers can also contact Air Selangor’s contact centre at 15300. - FMT
