Kuala Nerus residents don't need to display white flag, says MP

Residents of Kuala Nerus in Terengganu need not raise white flags to seek assistance, said its MP Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali, who urged them to contact his team instead.

According to him, the people there only need to make a call to his representatives at every state constituency in Kuala Nerus to get help coming their way.

"To my people in Kuala Nerus, you do not need to raise a white flag. Just call my team. It is enough to just alert them about your plight.

"It is our duty to send assistance and help you when you are in need.

"We have received 7,300 applications for assistance in June, and 5,810 of them received aid from their respective village committees," said Khairuddin (above), who is the Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities.

He also listed handphone numbers for his officers that can be contacted by Kuala Nerus residents.

For those who live in the Buluh Gading state constituency, they can call 013-9267731 (Ustaz Yusrizal), Tepoh constituency (013-9287731 - Yusof), Bukit Tunggal (019-9367731 - Ustaz Azzam), and Seberang Takir (019-2937731 - Azmi).

The PAS leader added that Kuala Nerus residents who live outside those areas can get in touch with an officer called Amir at 019-2917731 for assistance.

The white flag movement was started earlier this week, calling those in desperation to survive during the pandemic to display a white flag outside their house, as a signal to others that they have run out of food and are in need of immediate assistance.

Several PAS leaders, however, branded the movement as a sign of defeat. - Mkini
