Make people feel confident about eating out, says Najib after RASA closure

PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Najib Razak has urged the government to restore the confidence of the public in leaving their homes and spending while eating out.

This came after news reports that the popular RASA food court at Level 4 Suria KLCC had closed down permanently from today.

“If a food court at Level 4 Suria KLCC that has been popular for 22 years is forced to stop operations, what will be the fate of normal stalls and restaurants?” Najib asked in a Facebook post.

He added that the government must restore the confidence of the public as most still feel unsafe to walk around and eat outside, despite being allowed to dine-in if they are fully vaccinated.

The government should also put money into people’s hands and increase the rakyat’s purchasing power by increasing the cash cycle in the local economy, he said.

“I hope new steps taken by the government will be announced soon to fulfil these two requirements.” - FMT
