Early notice for Klang Valley water cuts

Large parts of the Klang Valley will face water cuts from Oct 13-16 to facilitate planned upgrades and maintenance.

During this period, the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase 1 (SSP1 WTP) will be shut down affecting parts of Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Langat and Kuala Selangor.

Air Selangor explained that these maintenance works were previously scheduled in 2019 and 2020, but were postponed due to large-scale unscheduled water supply disruptions.

"The implementation of these works has been approved by the National Water Commission (Span) to ensure that the water supply distribution system is at its best level for the convenience of consumers in the future," Air Selangor said in a statement today.
