Why wait? Just do it, PAS

From Clement Stanley

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has threatened to strike back at Umno if it triggers more state elections after the Johor polls.

Why wait? Why not do it now ? After all, it is said that fortune favours the bold.

Hadi must know that now is the right time to strike because there may never be any more state assembly elections until the 15th general election comes around.

If there is any substance to what he is saying, we can all assume that PAS is in a commanding position to immediately put the so-called court cluster in Umno into oblivion.

Isn’t that so? Just think what it would do for PAS’ confidence and its allies in the PN. With the Johor elections set to take place no later than March, Hadi could well bury Umno in Johor once and for all by striking back now and not later.

Not only would he be able to bring the “arrogant and mighty” Umno to its knees but more importantly, he would be able to show the rest of us that where all else has failed, PAS has succeeded in bringing the Umno juggernaut to a screeching halt.

This will also show those who have been charged with corruption and been convicted by the courts that there is no escape route for them when Umno is soundly defeated in Johor.

Based on recent comments made, it seems Umno does not view Hadi and PAS as threats.

In any case, Hadi and the PAS leadership have also made it known that between Umno and Bersatu, PAS would rather be with Muhyiddin Yassin and his party. With friends like PAS, who needs enemies?

That said, the battle for political supremacy and dominance could have a happy ending for everyone if PAS acts now and not later by launching a counter strike against Umno, as it is said that the best form of defence is to attack.

If Hadi and PAS believe they have a secret weapon to bring Umno and BN to their knees, this is as good a time as any to prove it.

No warnings are required. No threats are necessary. No quarters are asked for or given.
