Hamzah: BN candidates are 'court cluster' supporters

JOHOR POLLS | Johor Perikatan Nasional elections director Hamzah Zainudin has urged Johoreans to reject BN on grounds that their candidates are supporters of the "court cluster".

Hamzah (above), who spoke to Utusan Malaysia yesterday, said even if the "court cluster" was not fielded as candidates in Johor, BN candidates would still support them.

"We want a PN government because the candidates have been vetted and the candidates know what the people want.

"Although the 'court cluster' is not being fielded, they (BN candidates) are their supporters. People won't support those who are in favour (of the court cluster)," said Hamzah.

Hamzah was referring to a small group of Umno figures who are currently facing criminal trials, most prominently Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and former Umno president Najib Abdul Razak.

Najib has been actively stumping for BN of late.

Hamzah said there can only be a stable government if it consists of lawmakers who do not have integrity issues.

"How can a government be stable if their leaders have problems? If the people have confidence in them, only then can the country be stable.

"Investors will not come if they cannot be confident in the state leadership," he said.

Hamzah added that PN was better prepared for the Johor election compared to the Malacca election last year when the state assembly was suddenly dissolved. - Mkini
