Wan Saiful challenges Umno leaders to name Zahid as PM candidate

 

Wan Saiful Wan Jan says if Umno cannot name Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as its prime minister candidate, it must stop attacking Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin.

PETALING JAYA: A Bersatu leader has taunted Johor Umno leaders Puad Zarkashi, Nur Jazlan Mohamed and Mohamed Khaled Nordin to nominate party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as the prime minister candidate in the 15th general election (GE15).

This comes after the Umno leaders challenged Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin to remain as Perikatan Nasiional’s (PN) poster boy for the upcoming Johor state elections.

Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan said if they cannot name Zahid as the prime minister candidate for Umno, they must stop attacking his president.

Previously, images of Muhyiddin were featured prominently in the Melaka elections. However, PN had sought to assure its supporters that it would not employ the same strategy it used in Melaka for the upcoming Johor polls.

Wan Saiful also challenged Zahid to be made the BN poster boy in the Johor elections.

He said the party itself was not confident with Zahid who was involved in a court case.

“Sometimes, I am confused about who is the party president, Zahid or Najib Razak,” he said in a live discussion on Facebook. - FMT
