PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional’s candidate for Penggaram, Ter Hwa Kwong, is the latest candidate in the Johor state elections to contract Covid-19.

In a statement, the MCA man said he tested positive this morning after undergoing an RT-PCR test recently.

He will be in self-quarantine and has cancelled all his campaign programmes.

Ter apologised to all who were affected, including his family, relatives, friends, campaign team and the public, and urged those who had come in close contact with him in the past few days to take a Covid-19 test.

He is the latest Johor polls candidate to catch the virus during the campaign period. Previously, PKR’s Arthur Chiong tested positive just four days into campaigning.

Before that, Pejuang announced a change of candidate for the Endau seat after its initial pick, Zaini Tahar, tested positive for Covid-19. - FMT
