PETALING JAYA: Former attorney-general Tommy Thomas will have to face the music if a committee investigating allegations in his memoirs uncovers any offences, said Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Ismail said the committee will be submitting an interim report to the Cabinet next month.
Addressing delegates at the Umno general assembly, Ismail, who is an Umno vice-president, said: “I promise the delegates that I will take action against Tommy Thomas if any wrongdoings are found.”
He said in his closing speech that the committee, formed in October to look into the allegations, has called in witnesses to provide their statements.
He previously said investigations into the Thomas book would look into allegations such as “abuse of power in judicial appointments, executive interference in the judiciary, selective and politically-motivated prosecutions, and breaches in the oath of secrecy.” - FMT
