PAS Leaks: Isham Jalil mulls suing Kedah MB Sanusi

Selangor BN information chief Isham Jalil today said he plans to sue Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor over accusations that he had authored a meeting minute dubbed the “PAS Leaks” document.

In a Facebook post, Isham (above, left) said he would, however, lodge a police report and let the authority investigate the matter first before pursuing any civil action.

“Yesterday, Kedah MB Sanusi (above, right) suddenly mentioned my name, alleging that the meeting minute ‘could have been authored’ by me, that I have vested interests in making the document, that I was using the document, and that a person like me ‘has the potential to make such document’.

“If Sanusi was a person who knows a thing or two about the law, he surely would not have said what he said, because these are open accusations which can disrepute a person.

“In Islam, fitnah (slander) is a bigger sin than murder,” he said.

Isham, who is a former aide to former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, was referring to a press conference held by Sanusi yesterday, where the menteri besar commented on the purported leaked document which contained alleged findings of two PAS leaders after they visited various figures from Umno, Bersatu and Pejuang.

Sanusi reportedly dismissed the document as the work of PAS' opponents and trained his guns at BN.

He claimed that the document could have been fabricated by a cybertrooper who has vested interests and allegedly made a reference to Isham.

Isham said he is ready to take a sumpah laknat as a way to prove his innocence, and challenged Sanusi and Terengganu MB Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar to take similar steps to deny their involvement in meetings as alleged in the minute.

sumpah laknat is an oath beseeching God to curse those who are in the wrong.

“Since I know that Sanusi is not ready to do it and would find whatever excuses to avoid taking sumpah laknat, I will lodge a police report tomorrow and leave the matter to the police to investigate Sanusi’s allegation.

“Before we go into a civil suit, I shall lodge a report first,” Isham said. - Mkini
