Covid-19 (Aug 30): 2,144 new cases, 4 deaths

 


COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,144 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 31,159, down 25.3 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Kuala Lumpur (462)
Selangor (419)
Sabah (220)
Perak (167)
Sarawak (138)
Kelantan (113)
Malacca (108)
Kedah (103)
Negeri Sembilan (101)
Penang (98)
Johor (80)
Pahang (54)
Terengganu (39)
Putrajaya (30)
Labuan (7)
Perlis (5)


Another four deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday in Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

Over the past week, an average of 6.3 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 8, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,210 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 241 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 204 deaths last month and 89 deaths in June.

There are 1,288 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 72 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (102) followed by Sabah (89) and Johor (61). - Mkini
