Hadi's 'instant noodle' jibe makes him look like court jester, says Penang DCM

Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P Ramasamy has taken a jibe at PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, saying that the latter is constantly making statements that make him look like a court jester.

“I think PAS president and supremo Abdul Hadi Awang has run out of ideas to the extent he is constantly making bizarre statements.

“He cannot even use the right metaphor to describe the former Pakatan Harapan government when he said that Harapan, while in power, was like an “instant noodles government.”

“The whole idea behind the use of instant noodles is that it gets cooked fast, in a matter of minutes in comparison to the use of ordinary noodles.

To say that instant noodles are just as good as uncooked noodles is factually wrong,” said Ramasamy in a statement today.

He reminded the PAS leader that the Harapan government was democratically elected with a mandate from the people.

“It was usurped and undermined by Bersatu, PAS, Umno and others. The present government is an illegal backdoor government, and PAS is among the parties that gained power this way.

“Hadi was one of the prime architects of the collapse of the Harapan government, but by twisting facts, he cannot whitewash the PN government. Without realising, he has of late emerged as the most racist and bigoted political leader,” he added.

Ramasamy alluded to the Marang MP’s previous statement in which he attempted to pin the blame for corruption in Malaysia on non-Muslims and non-Malays.

“Blaming the non-Malays as the source of corruption was another instance of Hadi’s utter political nonsense.

“Hadi might have lost his sense of purpose and political balance, and perhaps a time has arrived that he could be termed as a comedian. He might be as good as a court jester,” he said.

Deafening silence

Meanwhile, DAP chairperson Lim Guan Eng asked how Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s Keluarga Malaysia could mean anything when Hadi, as special envoy to the Middle East with ministerial status, is allowed to escape unpunished for insulting non-Muslims and non-bumiputeras as being the roots for corruption in Malaysia?

“Not just the cabinet, but no single minister, including the prime minister, has upheld Keluarga Malaysia by repudiating Hadi for his baseless, divisive, racist, and extremist branding of non-Muslims and non-bumiputeras.

“A multitude of police reports have already been lodged throughout the country against Hadi seeking stern action for his inflammatory and unsubstantiated remarks that has angered many Malaysians, particularly non-Muslims and non-bumiputeras.

“When will the police act?” asked Lim.

He said that minority cabinet members have disappointed many with their deafening silence.

“By not daring to get the cabinet to take the correct principled stand against Hadi’s hate speech, these ministers from MCA, MIC, GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak), and GRS (Gabungan Rakyat Sabah) are condoning, emboldening, and legitimatising Hadi’s hostility and hatred against non-bumiputeras and non-Muslims.

“Previously, Hadi had stated that non-Muslims have no right to take up important ministerial posts in the cabinet such as the finance minister. And yet MCA, MIC, GPS, and GRS continue to work with and support PAS and their ministers in the federal government.

“The non-Muslim ministers’ continued silence makes them equally responsible for the racism and extremism by PAS, particularly when PAS has now gone further in wanting to ban concerts, Oktoberfest and Bon Odori,” added Lim. - Mkini
