Covid-19 (Oct 28): 3,296 new cases, 1 death

 


The Health Ministry said 3,296 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,893,733.

Active cases currently stood at 30,055, up 25.8 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (1,302)

Kuala Lumpur (813)

Perak (247)

Sabah (162)

Negeri Sembilan (151)

Penang (140)

Malacca (87)

Kelantan (82)

Pahang (68)

Sarawak (63)

Kedah (59)

Johor (53)

Putrajaya (35)

Terengganu (22)

Perlis (8)

Labuan (4)

Another 1 death attributed to Covid-19 was reported yesterday, in Perak, which was declared as "brought in dead".

Over the past week, an average of 3.3 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 3.3, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,463 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 89
 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 158 deaths last month and 247 deaths in August. 

There are 1,276 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 58 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (133) followed by Sabah (89) and Perak (58).  -Mkini
