SHAH ALAM: Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) will launch a “Bangsa Malaysia” doctrine which will focus on Malaysians accepting each other’s way of life, says president-designate Zuraida Kamaruddin.

She said this doctrine will be a set of guidelines that each party member can follow to have a united nation.

“What is needed now is to find common ground and accept sincerely that our nation is made up of people from various races and religious backgrounds.

“As such, as a plural nation, we must respect and celebrate the racial and cultural differences.

“According to Muslim Caliph Saidina Ali Abi Talib, if a person is not your brother in faith, he is your brother in humanity.

“This is also in line with the prime minister’s Keluarga Malaysia (Malaysian Family) concept,” she said at the opening of PBM’s first general assembly here.

Zuraida said every religion teaches its followers to love peace and be of good character, adding that will surely lead to better unity of Malaysians.

She said this doctrine of PBM is what will make the party different from others, adding that this will keep it on the right path. “We will do what we say and we will walk the talk.”

Zuraida said PBM would also make it part of their agenda to push for the date of the general election to be fixed in future to avoid uncertainty.

“Every day we seem to be asking: when is the election? There is no certainty.

“We will ask for the dates to be fixed in future,” she said, adding that such a move would help to control the uncertain political situation. - FMT
