PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s top women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan-M Thinaah smashed their way into the final of the Super 750 French Open final after a superb win over South Korean Baek Ha Na-Lee So Hee.

In the straight set victory in the semi-final which appeared to be a relatively easy win, the world Number 11 pair beat the South Korean scratch combination 21-13, 21-17 in Paris.

Pearly-Thinaah are only the second Malaysian women’s pair to reach the French Open final since the tournament’s inception in 1908.

The pair, whose last World Tour title was the 2021 Swiss Open, will play fourth seeds Mayu Matsumoto-Wakana Nagahara of Japan in the final tomorrow.
