Cars crushed by tree amid storm in KL

PETALING JAYA: Five cars were crushed after a large tree fell after a thunderstorm in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, this evening.

According to the KL command and control centre, the incident occurred along Jalan Mahkota in Taman Maluri. In an update on its Facebook page at 4.37pm, it said all the affected victims were safe.

The road has since been closed off, with the fire and rescue department and Civil Defence Force at the site of the incident. Work is going on to clear the road.

Pictures of the fallen tree showed that among the cars were a white Perodua Myvi and a black BMW.
