KL city centre hit with flash floods after heavy rain

 


Flash floods have been reported around Kuala Lumpur city centre following heavy rain this evening.

The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Command and Control centre shared images of water rising along several major roads surrounding the DBKL tower including Sultan Iskandar Highway, Jalan Kuching, Jalan Parlimen, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Pudu, Jalan Maharajalela, Jalan Bangsar, and Jalan Maarof.

There are also reports of the Bandar Tun Razak exchange at East-West Link Expressway (Salak Expressway) towards Taman Connaught, Cheras being affected by flash floods.

More congestion had also been reported in other surrounding areas, with advice to avoid the roads.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has earlier issued a warning of continuous rain in eight states from tomorrow until Sunday (Dec 4). - Mkini
