MACC summons three people in KL Tower sale probe

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has summoned three people over its investigation into allegations over the suspicious sale of shares involving the management ownership of the KL Tower.

It also confirmed that there was an ongoing probe by MACC.

"The MACC will probe if there is an element of corruption in the sale of 100% shares of Telekom Malaysia in Syarikat Menara KL Sdn Bhd to Hydroshoppe Sdn Bhd in October 2022.

"At the moment, MACC has summoned three witnesses and gotten several documents from the involved parties for scrutiny," said the commission in a statement on Thursday (Dec 29).

MACC, it said, would carry out an exhaustive, comprehensive and professional investigation into the issue.

On Tuesday (Dec 27), Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said issues over the sale of Menara Kuala Lumpur deserve scrutiny.

This came after issues involving the takeover of MLK by Telekom Malaysia through its subsidiary Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd had been raised on social media. - Star
