Anxious moments for passengers on Firefly flight bound for Singapore

JOHOR BARU: About 66 passengers and four flight crew members onboard a Firefly flight from the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, Selangor, bound for Seletar Airport in Singapore were frightened and anxious, no thanks to bad weather earlier today.

Firefly released a statement to inform that Firefly flight FY3124 had taken off from the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport at about 7.20am and was scheduled to land at Seletar at around 8.40am before encountering difficulties due to bad weather.

"The aircraft was diverted to the nearby Senai International Airport in Johor to wait for the weather to clear and improve before resuming with the flight plan to Seletar," said the statement.

The airline expressed gratitude and appreciation to all the passengers on board for their patience and understanding and they reached the destination safely.

"Rest assured that the safety of the passengers and flight crew are our priority in providing the best service," read the statement.

Earlier, a video went viral on social media after it showed the situation and scenario in the aircraft that was flying through bad weather at the time. The flight had to be diverted to Senai before being allowed to proceed to Seletar once the weather cleared. - NST
