Nearly 600 food outlets offer Menu Rahmah cheap meals

KEPALA BATAS: A total of 586 food operators nationwide have registered to offer cheap set meals under the Menu Rahmah programme, an official of the domestic trade and cost of living ministry said today.

Roziah Abudin said the Menu Rahmah initiative is seen as being able to bring about a positive impact on traders.

“We have received feedback from the participating food operators saying that the Menu Rahmah initiative has become a crowd-puller for them.

“We hope that more food operators will take part in the Menu Rahmah initiative on a voluntary basis,” she told reporters after the launch of the Menu Rahmah initiative at a restaurant in Bertam today.

Roziah said Menu Rahmah set meals costing RM5 each were not only for the B40 group but can be enjoyed by all segments of society.

She also said the ministry hoped that the initiative would continue to be implemented and the offer of meals at a reasonable price would become a culture among traders as well as food operators. - FMT
