PETALING JAYA: Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, Khaled Nordin and Johari Ghani have been elected Umno vice-presidents, defeating five other candidates in the party elections.
Unofficial results at Umno Online showed that Rosdy secured 63 votes, Khaled 58 and Johari 45.
Khaled was one of two vice-presidents who had sought re-election. The other, Mahdzir Khalid, failed to be elected.
Another vice-president, former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, had decided not to defend his post as a sign of protest against the party’s motion not to allow the posts of president and deputy president to be contested.
