Hadi’s health deteriorating, says son

KUALA TERENGGANU: PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s health is deteriorating and he is currently in a hospital for treatment.

This message was conveyed by his son, Khalil Abdul Hadi, in a post on his Facebook page this morning.

“Please pray for my father’s recovery. His health deteriorated slightly before the Aidiladha, and he is now receiving further treatment and being monitored by doctors at the hospital,” he said.

According to Khalil, who is Batu Buruk assemblyman, his father was not well when he attended the launch of the Terengganu PAS Youth election machinery in Marang on June 27, but still insisted on attending the event.

However, Khalil did not provide any further details, such as the nature of the illness.

Previously, Hadi, who is the Perikatan Nasional deputy president and Marang MP, had been admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) several times for treatment.

Meanwhile, when contacted by Bernama this morning, Khalil said Hadi was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kuala Terengganu and was reported to be in stable condition now.

In a brief WhatsApp message, Khalil said Hadi’s condition was “stable,  (and) he needs good rest”. - FMT
