PETALING JAYA: Three people were injured after a section of the ceiling at a mall in Taman Megah, here, collapsed as a result of the heavy rain and strong winds this afternoon.
A statement on Megah Rise Mall’s Facebook page said immediate action had been taken to address the situation and the management was investigating the incident.
“We regret to inform you that the ceiling of the car porch in front of Megah Rise Mall’s entrance collapsed during strong winds and heavy downpour this afternoon at approximately 3pm, resulting in three minor injuries.
“We are currently investigating the cause of the incident and are taking immediate action to manage and address the situation.
“Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our community,” the statement said.
The mall will remain open despite the incident but the affected area will be cordoned off. - FMT
