Human Resources Minister V Sivakumar today announced the appointment of Wangsa Maju MP Zahir Hassan as the new chairperson of the Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPK) effective Sept 21.
In a statement, he also announced the appointment of Bukit Gasing assemblyperson Rajiv Rishyakaran as PTPK deputy chairperson with effect from the same date.
“I am confident that the appointment of the new PTPK chairperson and deputy chairperson will enable them to lead the organisation and continue the momentum in developing highly skilled human capital in Malaysia,” said Sivakumar.
PTPK is a statutory body under the Human Resources Ministry responsible for providing financial assistance in the form of loans to individuals such as school leavers, graduates and others who are interested in pursuing skills training.
PTPK has expanded the scope of its skills training loans from 2021 to include not only training fees, takaful payments, and cost of living allowance, but also computer loan facilities of up to RM2,500 and transport allowance of RM2,000.
