MAHB extends assistance to stranded MYAirline passengers

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has extended assistance to passengers affected by the suspension of budget carrier MYAirline's operations.

According to the company, it has deployed its resources at relevant airports within its network to render "all possible assistance" to stranded MYAirline passengers following the announcement of the suspension of its operations this morning.

"Relevant notices have been put up at the terminals and airport staff are on the ground to offer assistance on alternative flight options by other carriers.

'At the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), resting areas have been provided at Level 3 Terminal 2 and Level 5 Anjung Tinjau Terminal 1 so that passengers can wait for their next flight comfortably," MAHB said in a statement today, adding that the situation at affected airports is "under control".

MAHB cited data that showed that until 12 Oct, a total of 39 flights servicing local destinations and one international route (to Don Mueang Airport, Thailand), as well as about 10,000 passengers, are affected (by the suspension).

"Passengers who are not yet at the airport are advised not to come to the airport. Instead, they can explore alternative flight options from other carriers through the respective airlines’ websites.

"Malaysia Airports remains committed to minimising the inconvenience experienced by affected passengers and in ensuring that all passengers experience a seamless journey at our airports."
