US House of Reps approved bill to sanction foreign supporters of Hamas
Hamas International Financing Prevention Act, passed 363-46
- president to periodically report to Congress
- each foreign person who provides “significant support” to Hamas
- Any such person must have two or more sanctions imposed on them
- president required to inform Congress any foreign govt supports Hamas
- These govts barred from receiving US assistance for one year
- International financial institutions to oppose providing assistance to these govt
