We got owner’s permission to set up tents, says Tian Chua

 

Sekretariat Solidariti Palestin (SSP) senior member Tian Chua says the owner gave the organiser permission to use the lot in a text message.

KUALA LUMPUR: City Hall cannot prevent protestors from camping at a site as part of its “blockade” of the US embassy as the owner of the lot had given the organiser permission, Tian Chua said.

The Sekretariat Solidariti Palestin (SSP) senior member said they had met with the owner of the lot who permitted them to use the site until Dec 31.

“The owner sent us a WhatsApp message saying he was allowing us to occupy the site.

“So City Hall cannot stop us,” he told reporters here.

The six-day “blockade” outside the embassy was organised in response to Washington’s veto of the United Nations’ efforts to push for a ceasefire in Gaza.
