PETALING: A woman whose body was found cemented in a water tub at a house in Klang died of “compression to the neck”, according to police.

Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the victim was between 20 and 30 years old.

“So far, we can’t say that she was strangled. Based on the mark (on her neck), she could have been hit,” he told FMT, adding that the identity of the woman, and whether she was a local or a foreigner, remained a mystery.

Yesterday, it was reported that a 53-year-old foreign man was remanded for seven days until Dec 11 to facilitate investigations into the case.

Meanwhile, Klang Selatan police chief Cha Hoong Fong said police had recorded statements from 10 witnesses in their bid to identify those involved.

“We have also sought Interpol’s help to track down two foreign men that we have identified,” he said in a statement.

Previously, the cops said they were looking for two men identified as Ranjit Singh and Mandeep Singh who used to rent the house and moved out in November 2021.

The woman was found after a contractor hired by the house owner to renovate the bathroom broke the cemented water tub. - FMT
