PETALING JAYA: The flood situation in Johor has worsened throughout the day, with the number of people forced to evacuate their homes tripling to more than a thousand as of 8pm tonight.
The National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) said 1,024 flood victims have been evacuated to 13 relief centres, according to Bernama.
This is a three-fold increase compared to the 330 people relocated to relief centres as of 2pm earlier today.
Earlier, Bernama reported that four districts — Kluang, Mersing, Johor Bahru and Kota Tinggi — were hit by floods after heavy uninterrupted rain since last night.
The floods have led to road closures in several areas across the state. - FMT
