SEPANG: The magistrates’ court here today sentenced a warehouse worker to four days’ jail and a RM3,000 fine after he admitted to writing a bomb threat on a package sent for delivery at the KLIA cargo centre last week.
Rozali Rahim, 23, pleaded guilty when the charge was read to him before magistrate Bukhori Ruslan.
He was charged with committing criminal intimidation by writing the threatening words “Do not throw or it will explode! This is a bomb!” on a parcel belonging to someone else at a scanner machine at the centre at 11.42am on April 25.
Rozali, who was unrepresented, was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum prison sentence of two years, or a fine, or both.
The court ordered Razali to serve his sentence from the date of his arrest, and an additional two months’ jail should he fails to pay the fine.
The prosecution was led by deputy public prosecutor Nur Sabrina Zubairi. - FMT
