Bukit Aman will summon all officers involved in investigating the case of a disabled man allegedly assaulted by a police security escort team member.

“This is to ensure a thorough investigation (of the matter) and everyone involved can provide their statements.

“The priority of every probe is to ensure the perpetrator is held accountable for their actions.

“And we will take strict action against any officers found guilty,” Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain said in a statement today.

He added that the police will take the necessary actions to ensure justice is upheld and protect those affected, especially those from the disabled community.

Earlier, Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Mohd Isa confirmed that the case is still being investigated.

“It is not within our power (to close the case), we have to refer to the deputy public prosecutor’s office first,” he told Malaysiakini.
