Cos-play groom shows up on wedding day dressed as Ultraman Taro

“INFANTILE”. “Over-grown children”.

These are but some of the oft-hurled accusations at men who seem ever so reluctant to let go of their childhood. This was most certainly the case of 26-year-old Mohamad Zulhafizie Senin who came dressed as Ultraman Taro on the event of his nuptials.

The uber fan’s unique cosplay groom get-up was specially commissioned for the wedding from Indonesia at a cost of RM2,000.

According to the 29-year-old bride Nur Qayyimah Ahmad Rosli, the respective families were on board with her spouse’s decision to don a cape and a horned Ultraman helmet for his big day.

Shared by Tik Tok user Red Rangers Penang who is believed to have been a guest at the wedding reception, the short clip shows the happy couple looking resplendent on their big day with the groom cutting an especially striking figure.

The clip has since gone viral amassing 11.4 million views and a staggering 57,000 comments. This is just a small sample of what is being said.

One commented that this superhero travelled far and wide in search of his soul mate.

Other fans of the Ultraman-verse chimed in with their observations with one cheekily noting that everyone now knows that Ultraman Taiga (son/offspring of Ultraman Taro) actually has Malay heritage!

Some netizens hilariously remarked that this was Ultraman “escaping” from previous spouse.

It was even suggested that beneath the costume lay a shy and introverted gentleman.

Of course, there were a number of queries on the practicality of the costume. For instance, how did this Ultraman Taro enjoy his wedding feast?

The quality of the costume was affirmed by one netizen who said her five-year-old child was completely hoodwinked, saying he kept asking why Ultraman Taro had settled for a mere earthling.

One said that domestication was an inevitability that not even Ultraman could escape from.

All said and done, the young man’s decision to don a bespoke Ultraman suit on his wedding day certainly made the event unique.

This bit of harmless fun certainly elicited more than a few guffaws. By proudly flaunting his inner child, the groom underlined that life shouldn’t be taken all that seriously.

FocusM wishes the happy couple many congratulations on tying their nuptials and may they have many years of Ultraman-inspired wedded bliss.

In the meantime, just ponder how cool it is for the wife to declare that she is married to a superhero. – Focus Malaysia
