Air Selangor says remaining three water treatment plants have resumed operations

 

PETALING JAYA: The three remaining water treatment plants that were temporarily shut down due to an odour pollution have resumed operations, says Air Selangor.

“The Sungai Selangor Phase 1 (SSP1), SSP2 and SSP3 Water Treatment Plants (WTP) have resumed operations as of 9pm,” said Air Selangor in a Facebook post.

The Rantau Panjang WTP had resumed operations earlier at 6pm.

However, Air Selangor did not indicate when the water supply would resume.

The four water treatment plants were temporarily shut down earlier Tuesday (July 23) due to an odour pollution incident at Sungai Kundang and Sungai Sembah.

The shutdown resulted in seven regions ‒ Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor ‒ experiencing unscheduled water disruption.

Air Selangor added that alternative water supply assistance is available for consumers through 17 local service centres listed as follows:
