PETALING JAYA
The police arrested a 48-year-old man for showing his colleague his genitals at their workplace on July 12.

Ampang Jaya police chief Azam Ismail said the 44-year-old woman lodged a report on the incident.

He said the woman panicked and ran to the office car park after the suspect pulled down his trousers and showed her his genitals.

Azam said the man, who works as an operations assistant, was arrested at around 5.30pm on Monday at Pangsapuri Taman Industri Lembah Jaya in Ampang.

The suspect tested negative for drugs,
 he said in a statement.

The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act for insulting behaviour.

Section 509 of the Penal Code carries a punishment of up to five years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both upon conviction. Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act, on the other hand, provides for a fine of not more than RM100.

Azam said the man would be held on remand until Friday. - FMT
