Mahkota rep in critical condition

Mahkota assemblyperson Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain, 63, was reportedly in critical condition and being treated at the Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor due to internal bleeding.

However, her daughter later disputed this saying that while her mother was in the hospital, she was in stable condition and was not being treated for such bleeding.

Batu Pahat Wanita Umno chief Haliza Abdullah earlier told Berita Harian she was informed of Sharifah’s condition this morning.

Sharifah, who is the Kluang Wanita Umno chief, previously helmed the position of Johor Wanita Umno chief.

She secured the Mahkota seat in the 2022 state election.

Previously, she served as Penawar assemblyperson from 2018 to 2022.

Pontian Wanita Umno chief Hasrunizah Hassan was also earlier cited as saying that Sharifah was hospitalised in March to receive treatment for internal bleeding.

Hasrunizah expressed shock over the news as she thought Sharifah’s condition had been resolved after her discharge from the hospital a few months ago.

“We are praying for her speedy recovery and I am getting more information before heading to the hospital to visit her,” she said. - Mkini
