PETALING JAYA
The mother of a six-year-old girl reported missing last Saturday has urged the public to stop spreading inaccurate information about her daughter being spotted.

Albertine Leo Jia Hui was reported missing during the Bon Odori event at Eco Galleria in Iskandar Puteri.

Her mother, Leo Qieo Xin, 37, said false information and rumours being posted on social media about her daughter’s disappearance have severely affected her.

I am angry and disappointed with the many inaccurate news reports related to my daughter’s disappearance,
 Bernama quoted her as saying.

Please stop. I am sad and worried. I have no appetite to eat.

The incident reportedly took place when Qieo Xin was selling drinks at the festival.

A social media post claimed that Jia Hui was seen at the customs, immigration and quarantine complex at the Sultan Iskandar Building in Johor Bahru with a man, leading to concerns that she might have been taken to Singapore.

Earlier today, Johor menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi appealed to the public to help find Jia Hui, adding that the police were doing their best to locate her.

Iskandar Puteri police chief M Kumarasan yesterday said Jia Hui is about 120cm tall, has long black hair, fair skin and a slim build.

He said Jia Hui was wearing a white T-shirt with a Mickey Mouse graphic on the front and short pants before she went missing.

He urged anyone who has seen Jia Hui or has information on her whereabouts to contact the nearest police station or investigating officer Ridzuan Abd Hadi at 017-7051097 or the Iskandar Puteri police headquarters at 019-2792095 or 07-2212999. - FMT
