Diner furious with foodpanda for only giving automated reply to her maggots-infested food complaints

A FOODPANDA app user has hit out at the online food delivery platform for only reacting to her maggots-infested food report with automated response despite the severity of her complaint.

“I ordered food from @foodpanda_my on Sunday (Aug 25) for my friends and I. When we got the food, one of the items was not a complete order – we didn’t get the rice or the fish ordered. Fine, I issued an incomplete order on the app,” penned soccpuppet 🦝(@soccpuppet) on her X account which has been viewed 1.2 million times at the time of writing.

“We were almost done with our meal when we found a maggot crawling from inside the food! Had to record for proof but this is the vilest most disgusting thing ever 🤢. My friends threw up immediately after I reported about this incident to @foodpanda_my again but they just gave me the same automated response.”

soccpuppet further furnished screenshots (SS) from the first complaint about the missing order. She did not SS the chat about the second complaint but “it’s the same automated response about how they will escalate to a different team”.

“Apparently unable to process any refunds or even take my complaint seriously. A living crawling maggot in our food? Come on, this is definitely a serious health violation @foodpanda_my”.

Unable to forget her experience further soccpuppet traced the shop from which she ordered the food from while querying @KKMPutrajaya (Health Ministry) and @foodpanda_my as to “why this place is still running its business by serving spoiled food with maggots 😭”.

This was when one commenter expressed surprise at how the said nasi padang shop was still operating given soccpuppet’s bad experience “wasn’t the first case”.

As for soccpuppet’s curiosity as to how the shop can get “4.9 stars rating with more than 1,000 reviews”, some commenters revealed that it is typical for many diners “to comment not delicious yet mark five stars” in their rating.

Moreover, one commenter blamed the attitude of Malaysians “who are lazy to lodge report to the Health Ministry (MOH)” hence “no action is taken against filthy outlets”.

Speaking from personal experience of getting food poisoning, another commenter advised against ordering food from eateries in the Chow Kit vicinity due to their unhygienic surrounding.

No wonder a few foodies revealed that they have deleted their foodpanda app as the online food delivery platform “doesn’t pay much attention to matters pertaining to food hygiene”. – Focus Malaysia
