PETALING JAYA: PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil has taken a swipe at Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal over his challenge to a debate on the privatisation of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB), describing the Machang MP as an attention seeker.
Fahmi, who is also the communications minister, said Wan Fayhsal should first read up on the rules for a debate as he could not rely on poison-pen letters, Bernama reported.
The minister was making a dig at the Bersatu man’s six-month suspension from Parliament for referencing a poison-pen letter, allegedly naming the mastermind of the MAHB privatisation deal.
“He is a person who craves attention and if he wants to debate, he should not bring a poison-pen letter to Parliament. He should come to Parliament and debate according to the rules.
Fahmi was quoted as saying.I believe he is simply seeking attention and wants to be in the spotlight,
Wan Fayhsal previously said he was ready to debate Fahmi and economy minister Rafizi Ramli over the sale of MAHB shares to Global Infrastructure Partners, which is linked to global investment firm BlackRock, a firm said to have stakes in US defence firms making weapons used by Israel.
