3 dead in 7-vehicle crash on Karak highway

PETALING JAYA
Three people died in a seven-vehicle accident at Km42 of the Karak highway early this morning.

A spokesman from the Bentong fire station said they received an emergency call at 3.33am and a team of eight personnel was dispatched to the scene.

The spokesman said three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, five were injured and another five were unharmed.

The accident involved two trailer trucks, a three-ton lorry and four cars. One of the trucks had caught fire.

Harian Metro quoted Pahang fire and rescue department assistant director (operations) Ismail Abdul Ghani as saying the three victims who died were identified as Ridzuan Zulkafly, 40, Zaimi Shariff, 39, and Azizul Fitrie Zairi, 23. - FMT
