PETALING JAYA: A man in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, has apologised for accidentally dragging his dog along a road after the incident was caught in a viral video.
Seberang Perai Tengah police chief Helmi Aris said the man filed a police report about the incident at 12.41am yesterday after it had gone viral online, Bernama reported.
He said the man owned the dog and had apologised for his oversight which led to the animal being dragged along Jalan Kulim in Taman Sentosa.
he said.The driver realised what had happened only when he was alerted by someone that the dog was tied to the back of his car at a traffic light. His wife explained that her sister had tied the dog to the car to prevent it from wandering,
Helmi added that the man rushed the dog to a veterinarian after being alerted. The case is nonetheless being investigated under the Animal Welfare Act 2015. - FMT
