PASIR PUTEH: Police found various books related to banned Aurad Muhammadiah and Al-Arqam during a raid on premises linked to Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISB) in Gong Kulim this morning.
The two-hour-long raid on the premises that housed a charity home and a school started at 9am and involved 50 personnel from the state police, state Islamic Affairs and Religious Department and state Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council.
It is learned that police had to break down the locked doors of the house and school before conducting an inspection and seizing various books hidden in the storeroom of the premises
It is also understood that the premises, including the charity home, were previously occupied by more than 60 residents but have since been vacated following a police raid in Panji, Kota Baru, last Saturday.
Checks by the raiding party also found 10 horse stables which were all empty, believed to have been relocated to other locations. The area also had a chicken coop, with more than 500 chickens
All books confiscated during the raid were taken to the state police headquarters. - NST
