PETALING JAYA: Students at all training institutes of the manpower department (ILJTM) will get four days off for Deepavali.
This follows the government’s decision to give an additional day off for Deepavali which will be celebrated next Thursday.
Human resources minister Steven Sim, in a statement today, said for ILJTM in Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, the additional holiday will be on Oct 30, while the holiday for ILJTM in other states will be on Nov 1, Bernama reported.
“Since there are 1,500 Indian students at ILJTM, the ministry has agreed to give an additional day off for all ILJTM students.”
However, Sim said the students would have to attend replacement classes when they return. - FMT
