PETALING JAYA
Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd today lodged a police report after a man attacked two of its employees disconnecting power supply at a house in Kampung Sapagaya, Lahad Datu, resulting in a vehicle crash.

The utility company said the two employees had gone to the village at 11.30am to disconnect electricity supply to a house with unpaid bills, Bernama reported.

A black vehicle blocked the men’s four-wheel drive vehicle parked by the roadside and an angry man emerged and forcibly attempted to open the door of the company car.

“In panic, the employees drove away but were pursued by the man. The Sabah Electricity vehicle lost control and skidded off the road and plunged into an oil palm plantation along Jalan Silam,” the company said in a statement.

Both employees sustained minor injuries, with one injured in his left hand, and the other suffering a sprain to the left leg.

Sabah Electricity said it would not tolerate any threat to its employees’ safety and would take legal action against those who obstruct its operations. - FMT
