MyJalan app receives more than 20,000 complaints about roads

The works ministry says it received 2,382 complaints about potholes since the MyJalan app was launched in August last year.

The works ministry’s MyJalan app has received 20,042 complaints about damaged roads since its launch in August last year, with complaints about potholes at the top of the list.

Works minister Alexander Nanta Linggi said 6,019 or 30% of the complaints fell under the prerogative of the ministry involving federal and state roads while the rest were referred to other agencies.

“The ministry has solved 95.33% of the complaints under its prerogative, while work on the balance is under progress,” he said in a written reply to Batang Lupar MP Shafizan Kepli in the Dewan Rakyat.

The minister said the highest number of complaints was received about potholes (2,382) followed by damaged roads (1,087), street lights (984), traffic lights (634), and others (932).

The MyJalan app was launched last year to facilitate the reporting of any road damage, non-functioning street lights, landslides, flooding, and more. The app also allows a road user to send pictures and provide GPS location. - FMT
