Pointless speaking in Dewan if letters ignored, laments MP

Kota Belud MP Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis said it may be her fate as an MP who is ‘not good at carrying out projects and making money’ to have her letters to the various ministries ignored.

KUALA LUMPUR
A Sabahan MP has called on the government to prioritise MPs’ applications to carry out projects for the benefit of the constituents.

Speaking at the Dewan Rakyat today, Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis (Warisan-Kota Belud) said she felt it was “pointless speaking in Parliament”, claiming that her applications had not been addressed.

“The hundreds of letters sent to the ministries have not been addressed.

“As an MP, I do not know what projects are carried out on the ground. It’s as if there’s no dignity in being an MP.

“The people who know best about these projects on the ground seem to be the ‘lobbyists’ or ‘project sellers’ who set their commissions at 10%, 20% or 30%.

“But the ones who get criticised for allegedly not doing their jobs well and for not helping the people are the MPs,” she said.

Isnaraissah said it may be her fate as an MP who is “not good at carrying out projects and making money” to be treated this way.

“Sometimes I question if I need to become a contractor to know what projects are taking place in my constituency,” she said. - FMT
