Young mechanic’s recklessness leads to knife fight with Chinese uncle – two wrongs don’t make a right

 

“You bapa punya jalan, ah?” (Your father’s road, ah?)

This is a question often hurled at reckless motorists.

Well, it was heard yet again in a clip that has gone viral. In it, a Chinese uncle is seen confronting an Indian mechanic over alleged speeding by the latter.

Shared by #UpdateInfo (@update11111) on the X platform, the Chinese uncle accused the Indian mechanic of reckless endangerment as well as revving the motorcycle noisily.

He asked what if a kid is knocked down before throwing in the road ownership quip for good measure.

However, things took a turn for the worse when the Chinese uncle brandished a knife when the scenario got heated up and broke into fisticuffs. With the help of co-workers, the mechanic was able to over-power the Chinese uncle, thus removing the weapon.

Having calmed down, the Chinese uncle claimed that the mechanic had no right to put others at risk with his antics. The noisy motorbike was also a nuisance. He also asked the lady owner if she was running a legitimate business by allowing such behaviour by her employees.

But one of the men who overpowered him retorted that the Chinese uncle had no right to brandish a dangerous weapon regardless of his grouses. The man could be heard telling the Chinese uncle not to look for problems after getting drunk.

Many netizens had their say but drew the line at bringing a weapon into the equation.

Regardless of the mechanic’s actions and that his answers were provocative in extremis, the fact remains that if anything untoward had happened, the Chinese uncle could land himself in hot soup.

After all, Section 326 of the Penal Code states: “Whoever, except in the case provided by Section 335, voluntarily causes grievous hurt by means of any instrument for shooting, stabbing or cutting or any instrument which used as a weapon of offence, is likely to cause death … shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 20 years and shall also be liable to fine or to whipping.”

Hence, try talking common sense first. If this fails, lodge a police report or multiple ones till action is taken.

Back it up with video clips of the reckless riding as in the above case. But never, ever take the law into your own hands, especially after a few drinks. – Focus Malaysia
