Police reports lodged against Yeoh over 'God's ambassador' quote from book

At least seven police reports have been lodged against Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh.

This is after translated excerpts from her 2014 autobiography “Becoming Hannah” in which she speaks about how her Christian faith became an issue again on social media.

Critics had zoomed in on her remarks that she was acting as an “ambassador of God” as proof that she was evangelising.

Dang Wangi district police chief Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman confirmed the reports had been lodged at the district and that investigations are underway.

Last week, the Kuala Lumpur High Court dismissed Yeoh's defamation suit against former inspector-general of police Musa Hassan for alleging that she was trying to turn Malaysia into a Christian nation, among others.

Yesterday, Yeoh stated that she had become aware of WhatsApp messages and videos politicising the court’s findings, which falsely suggest that she aimed to convert Muslims to Christianity.

She said she would be lodging a police report over the matter and filing an appeal in her defamation suit against Musa. - Mkini
